Finding love doesn’t have to be impossible, but you can find that special someone in your life!
In this 5-part series, we’ll give you all the advice you need to find real love, and the first piece of advice we have is: LEARN TO LOVE YOURSELF.
If you aren’t comfortable with yourself–both the things that make you a great person as well as your flaws–you’re going to find that it will be hard for someone else to love you as well. It’s important that you come to grips with both your strengths and weaknesses, and learn to deal with them in equal measure. No one is ever all good or bad, so make sure that you can handle the things about yourself that you’re not fond of.
The truth is that no other person can make you complete, but you need to be a complete person all on your own. If you are depending on someone else to help you feel complete, you’ll end up draining them and sucking them dry of happiness. You cannot rely on another person for your sense of identity, but you need to know who you are BEFORE you find love.
A relationship is a journey that you embark upon with another person. If you’re still learning to love yourself, it’s a lot like traveling without all the supplies you need. You could end up making someone else suffer because of your lack of preparedness, so try not to get into relationships until you have learned how to love yourself.
That is the key to being in the right place to find true love, and it will help you prepare yourself for what comes next.
